Departures
Available most days in season, weather and park conditions permitting.
Day 1: Depart Sembalun early morning, trek to the summit-push camp (Plawangan Sembalun or similar), arrive afternoon, rest. Day 2: Pre-dawn summit push (approx. 3am start), sunrise at the summit, descend to camp for breakfast, continue descent to Sembalun.
Is this trek difficult? Yes — the summit push is steep, loose scree, and starts before dawn; a reasonable fitness level is needed. Is a guide legally required? Yes, Rinjani National Park requires a licensed guide for all trekkers. What's the toilet/camp situation? Basic camp facilities; this is backcountry camping, not a lodge. What should I pack? Warm layers for the summit night (it gets cold), a headlamp, and sturdy trekking shoes — ask us for the full packing list on WhatsApp.
